Raymond Baptist Church
In 1837, soon after the establishment of the Town of Raymond, the Baptist organized and met in a community church known as The Raymond Church. The Methodist and the Baptist shared the same building. When the Baptist built their first structure, it was located near or on the site as the present day church.

For sure, the Baptist Church was standing when the Battle of Raymond was fought. The women of the church had prepared a picnic in front of the church to honor their Confederate soldiers. Instead of being enjoyed by the Confederates, it was consumed by the Yankees.

The original Baptist Church structure fell to the ground soon after the War and another church was built the site. The Baptist Church has been a part of the town's history for at least the past 150 years.
